Never write to a Slave -- your master will no longer be the source of truth.

On the other hand, you can set up two machines, each acting as Master and as Slave. This is called "dual master".

But... Even in that situation, do not allow writing to more than one of the machines. Only after a "manual failover" should you have the application write to the other machine.
