How to upgrade multi-master from 5.6 > 5.7

I have three servers that run 5.6.

MasterA <-> MasterB -> SlaveA

What is the best way to upgrade to 5.7 while keeping at least one server up and running to serve clients?

I can point the clients to either master during the upgrade.

Here is what I am thinking.

* Upgrade SlaveA to 5.7 (no one actually uses that machine)
* Point all traffic to MasterA (stop slave, so no more updates will come from MasterB)
* Upgrade MasterB to 5.7
* Point all traffic to Master B
* Upgrade MasterA to 5.7

Seems OK, is that safe? Or is there a better way?
