Best Practices for the case low bandwidth

Hi Forum Members,

Please suggest me best practices on replication in the case of lower bandwidth on connectivity.

I found something on internet

In the case of low bandwidth either we can go with replication using statement, or else using global variable slave_compressed_protocol which will reduce the network traffic.

if this is a better way then any steps to achieve this replication
