Performance problem during mysqldump backup
Hi,
when I'm backuping some big databases with mysqldump, I have performance problems on the server.
I tried to nice the mysqldump process but the fact is mysqldump calls a mysql process which is not niced.
Does anyone has an idea about this issue ? How to backup my databases without impacting the global performances ?
I looked on mysqlhotcopy which is a fast way (and not slowing performances a lot) to do backups but this generates binary files and I need to have text files. So if anyone knows how to convert binary files to text files, I can do something with it.
Thanks for your help.
Romain.
