hi nick,

thanks for your link, its help me a lot though... im sure you're expert in MySQL :)
its clear now...

and now another probs occurs.
IM using Visual Foxpro and VB as the Front end, for accessing mySQL data. the question is.. i can't accessing the innoDB table.. coz i don't know where it locate (which folder) while using MYISAM.. i can write code to programatically .ZIP or UNZIP the databases and tables in the folder C:\mysql\data\mydatabase

have you try to programmatically backup the innoDB table? i still can't find where's located...
