MySQL Enterprise Backup Remotely

I have a situation where I use MEB to backup incrementally on server A and then move the incremental pieces to another server B. MEB is installed on server A.

Can I use MEB on server A to perform the merge of incremental backups on server B without having MEB installed on server B ?

Also:

I am currently looking at MySQL backup strategies and am weighing the pros and cons of running incremental backups on a master vs. slave.

Can anyone please tell me what strategy they would use ? What are the caveats of running the backup on either master or slave ? At this time I'm thinking running on the slave would be the best option and save the master all that overhead. Any reasons out there not to do this ?

Thanks to anyone that can help with either of my questions.

Cheers,
Chris
