Sorry for long time to answer.

Very confusing.

Try following command from PHP code and compare with output of same queries in command line:

$command ='/usr/bin/mysql -u root -p'.$psw.' -S '.$skt.' '.$dbname.' -e "select user(), current_user(); show tables;"';
