If this is What Google Says It Is then you need to set secure-file-priv (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/server-options.html#option_mysqld_secure-file-priv) to some existing directory *DIFFERENT* from your UDF directory and your binary search path !

And strongly consider upgrading, as Jonathan suggested.
