Server Sizing?

Perhaps my google skills are poorer than I thought, but I haven't found any good docs out there on how to size a machine to run a straighforward MySQL server.

I've got something I might expect to grow into the multi-GB range, largely driven by the presence of 50-200kb blobs which are being stored in the database for now. Getting these out onto the filesystem would likely cut database size by an order of magnitude or two, but right now disk space is cheaper than developers and this makes backups easier.

Right now my server's doubleplus fast with a 10k 36GB RAID1 array, single Xeon 2.8 and 2GB RAM (Win2k3) but I'm wondering how far this thing will take me before I need to add more horsepower. Anybody recommend some good resources to start from?
