Error 2003: cannot connect to mysql server 'xxx' (10061)

Dear all,

I'm using MySQL 4.0.18 in my server linux machine, which is connected remotely on , i m having users 'root' with '%' host name with having all privileges, in my local machine i m using winXP, through which i m trying to connect to mysql server with its IP. i m getting error no 2003: cannot connect to mysql server 'xxx' (10061).

By using puTTY i m able to login to remote linux machine and able to use mysql by 'root'@'localhost'. Thus i m sure that mysql server is running on remote m/c

I m using 2-3 more servers with above same config. I m able to connect to them from my local machine successfully.

can anyone faced this problem is past?? please help me ASAP.
