The problem is that the database is working fine on a test system. It could very well be that the design could be optimized, and that this would result in marginally faster performance, but the problem right now is not minor inefficiencies but that my database just doesn't work. The commands aren't working on the production system whereas they work fine on a test system with the same database design and same data.
