We've got 8Gb of RAM + 4Gb of swap, so I don't think that's the problem. We are using right now somewhat less than 1Gb.

I'm also thinking in a problem with some InnoDB configuration. The thing that gets me on my nerves is that it works in another server with almost identical configuration, and the fact that it doesn't log anything relevant, it just stops logging.
