I'm having the same issues, except I know that the BLOB data in a particular field ALWAYS contains backslashes and SOMETIMES also contains accented (ü or è or ç, etc) characters.

Now that the data has been imported, I don't seem to be able to find a way to display the BLOB data in any meaningful way...

I'm going back to my source table and try double backslashes and other tricks (editing UNICODE or accented character representations), and I'll try and post my results later.

In the meantime, if anyone has an answer, or if I'm missing something blindingly stupidly obvious, please let me know!
