I have been fighting the same problem all night and can't seem to fix it. It's like the odbc connector just won't send the username and password information even though you specify it AND it tests successfully.
I found that if I put the un and pw in my CF code then it connects fine, but it's supposed to work without it because the un and pw are specified in the DNS configuration.
