ODBC Connector 5.2.6 install errors solved on 64-bit Windows

After tons of searching and trying every install trick I could find I finally found the problem with the MSI installer for 64-bit Windows. First a little background.

I installed MySQL 5.6 64-bit on a new Windows 2012 server without any problems. I was able to install the 32-bit connector with no errors. The 64-bit connector would always fail with an error code 126 on the myodbc5S.dll. It turns out there is a system DLL that the myodbc5S.dll requires. This DLL is named msvcr100.dll and it lives in Windows\System32.

I copied this DLL from a working Windows 2008 R2 64-bit system into the new 2012 System32 directory and the installer completed and I could now edit DSNs.
