Hello Fred,

Thanks for showing interest in Mysql Connector/ODBC.

Not sure about your first issue, will need odbc trace log to understand.
For second issue, check if issue is not because of architecture mismatch. If not sure try installing both 32 bit and 64 bit Connector/ODBC.
