IIRC you here acknowledged update issues due to GetSchema in an earlier release.
The point regarding information_schema queries vs GetSchema is that once a developer learns information_schema methods, she obtains instant & reliable results on any platform (PHP, Perl, C/C++, Java, &c) with many a RDBMS and with minor mods. That leaves more time for learning proprietary methods for which there exists no such generic alternative. Doing things "the Microsoft way" is sometimes exactly the wrong choice.
