I'm in the same problem. I really really need OLEDB to work in Visual Basic .Net 2003. I have an whole huge application that uses OleDB against a Microsoft Access database, and I need it to support MySQL as well. But Access sucks with ODBC and MySQL won't run at all with OLE, and I need the app to use a single set of objects for everything, so I would RATHER go wtih the faster of the two, OLE. I've tried a million different connect strings and drivers, and I can't get it to work at all. Not even a little bit.
PS, to the grumy lady, it's not MySQL's fault.. they didn't write the Ole drivers.
