When will the connector for "Compact Framework" be released?

I have read through many posts here, and you always says it's released very soon. But it's over a year since, and i still cannot find it?
Is this ever going to be released? Can't you just release the beta then? I read that it actually was working very well half a year ago - so i don't understand why this it should take so long?
The reason i ask is because i'm going to start a project soon, and i'll have to go for MS SQL if theres no tools for Windows Mobile available.
