Your code seems good for me and this is unexpected behaviour (parameters).

For the second question I don't understand what are you trying to do, it will be helful if you provide more details about.

Also, to review the parameters issue could you please provide the versions for:

- Connector/NET
- Operating System
- MySql Server
- .NET Framework
