Hi Gabriela, thanks for your suggestions. I am sure about the port, because the default one is something like 1403 i think so I've specified the port to make sure it could talk to the server. User and password are correct (copied and pasted from server settings) and the server is on 24/7 because we have live websites and databases on it...

for a temporary solution I think I'll install Xampp on one of our machines and mirror the db so that I work on the local one and it syncs with the remote, but as I said it can only be temporary and I'll have to find a solution anyway... Other Ideas?
