Hello Jacob.

Your first screenshot is a capture of Connector/Net Installer, but the instructions that you are following is for Connector/ODBC. Both products are different and works different.
Can you follow the instructions but using the installer for Connector/ODBC and let us know any problem that you will have?
You can get Connector/ODBC here: http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/
