Hi Alan,

Uninstall MySQL.

Uninstall MySQL Installer.

Remove all the folders you find related to MySQL in your drives.

The folder ProgramData may be hidden in your machine. You have to unhide it before removing MySQL folders.

Open RegEdit.

NOW YOU HAVE TO BE CONCENTRATING HARD BECAUSE YOU ARE INTO THE REGISTRY!

Using the Find command to find the first key having the text 'mysql'.

Change the 'mysql' part to 'mzsql'.

Now you have to that for ever 'mysql' key or folder you find in the registry.

Now you shouldn't be able find 'mysql' in the registry using the Find command.

Close RegEdit.

Now download a fresh MySQL installer to install MySQL.

Good Luck
M Varnendra
