Thanks for your reply.

I'm not sure if I'd call it a bug or not - as the link you provided points out, it is supposed to add the sitemap provider (which I hadn't noticed before installing)
It's just that a side-effect of it adding the mysql sitemap provider to the machine config is that Exchange web access then defaulted to using the mysql provider, which was incorrect for that situation.
You could easily argue that the Exchange web.config should be sepcific enough to handle that.

Our mysql connector version is 6.9.6
OS is Windows Server 2012 R2
Exchange 2013 SP1

Exchange was installed first, and mysql connector later.

It wasn't really a problem for me, but sounded like it could have been the same problem as this guy had.
