We have started to see this happen on computers running Windows 7 that get the latest updates. I don't know which update causes it.

It sounds like there may be an update from MySQL that fixes this. I am still testing with development machines and so haven't verified this with the "production" server. There is a new version of the connector (now 6.9.9). However it appears you need to also update the server. The post I read mentioned updating to 5.7. That appears to work. I am also trying to get the latest updates for the version we currently use (5.6) and it looks like that may be enough.

I hope this helps. I will be interested to hear if this works for others. I will post again when I see if updating the production to the latest 5.6 and distributing the new DLL fixes it.
