I was looking at the MySQL forums and found that needed some help with the port of MaxDB to Mac OS X, I was wondering if I could be of help. I'm not an advanced user, more of a newer user. I have a PowerMac G5 system with 2 GB of RAM, I think that might be a good system to test it out.
