Thanks for these instructions - they actually bear on my current problem (see my recent post "MySQLdb: can't link to libmysqlclient.so.15"). I tried to find the gcc equivalent to the -R parameter, but couldn't figure out what it might be (I couldn't find it in the online man pages for cc either). Any ideas what might accomplish the same thing with gcc?
