Re: Cannot connect to MySQL using mysql_connect in PHP
I am not sure, but I think it is bug #35865. However, I made tne wizard start by changing the manifest script from "asAdministrator" to "requireAdministrator", using XNResourceEditor. But now a new problem occurs, as when I reach the final step I get the message "Could not start MySQL Windows Service. Error: 0". Do I have to delete all MySQL installations on my machine, and then reinstall it? Am getting rather confused now. Why can't Microsoft get rid of these unnecessary problems for Vista users? Any suggestions?
