MySQL Forums :: PHP :: GUI to MySQL

I'm new to this whole PHP/MySQL. I understand the fundments of it, and I know it's something I want to learn and uses in my next two projects. The only problem I have since I have no experiance or training in MySQL is the interface. I know there are several GUI interface, but I don't know which one is right for me. I have a web hosting account on godaddy.com with PHP and MySQL software.

I current uses a microsoft excel spreadsheet as a database, that I want to move to the web so that the information is LIVE. I want to take some training courses but I don't have $2000.00 one hand. Someone did offer to do my database into PHP/MySQL, at the same price if I was to learn it. So I fig that it would be best that I learn it myself and pick up on the education experience.

Can anyone suggest, good software and training material?
