Warning: mysql_connect(): Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\index.php on line 17

Help, I am working on a project at work. I set up PHP and MYSQL on my server for work. I try and make a connection to the database via PHP code/query and this is the message I get, can someone help me please:



Warning: mysql_connect(): Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\index.php on line 17
