There are many ways to "burn" AUTO_INCREMENT ids in InnoDB. Here are some:
INSERT IGNORE ... (and there was a duplicate UNIQUE/PRIMARY key)
INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE ... (and it took the UPDATE path)
