phpmyadmin problem

I have configured phpMyAdmin 2.6.4-pl3 with mySQL5.0 and PHP5 (WinXP). Im facing the error while opening http://localhost/phpMyAdmin/index.php, it gives the following error:

#1251 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

Pls help me to resolve this problem
