Update Record behavior deletes input text after a quotation mark.

I use Dreamweaver 8. Using php and MySQL the Update Record server behavior deletes all text after a quotation mark. The update form has a text box and the data is entered as “text”. The MySQL table field is a “Text” field. The web page also has the “restrict access to page” behavior. Lunarpages Web Host Info: Operating System Linux, Apache Version 1.3.34 (Unix), PHP Version 4.4.1, MySQL Version 4.0.25-standard. Is this a Dreamweaver 8 problem or a MySQL problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
