5.1.2 PDO Supoprt for MySQL 5.0?

I am trying to get PDO support for MySQL 5.0 and I am curious if anyone else has gotten this to work. I do not want to use te mysql / mysqli driver but rather the pdo driver. I can compile the updated driver but how do I add it into php and the pdo driver? Thanks for the help!
