Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like two vars of the same name is risky. Going back to my original efforts on this, if I don't use the second hidden var at all and just let the form send over only the vars for the boxes checked, how would I test to know which vars of a set of checkboxes have been passed in and which were left out? Obviously I'm new at some of this stuff, this is probably a 101 level question but I struggling with it and can't find it explained well in my resource books. Was the second recommendation in the authors article the "right" way to do it? If so can you explain a little more simply for me or offer other simpler solutions?
