data type text confusing?
hi all ,
i have a table here called my_table .
my_table;
+----+-----------+-------------------------------------------------------------+----------------+
| id | type | data | last_update |
+----+-----------+-------------------------------------------------------------+----------------+
| 1 | employee | a:2{s:1:"name";s:2:"ganesh";s:3:"phone no";s:4:"98989898"; } | 20060309034040 |
| 2 | department | a:2{s:1:"name";s:2:"ece";s:3:"no profs";s:4:"20"; } | 20060309034040 |

how do i create this my_table ?
do i have to use data column to be of text type.
and what does a,s mean.
and if above is the case how do i retrieve name of the employee .
plz help me out.
