Referring to MySQL indexes by Access modules

How can Microsoft Access modules of Visual Basic code refer to the indexes of MySQL over MyODBC contact?

I was trying to run Access code on an Access table which was a linked table from MySQL over MyODBC. The code contained e. g. an order like r.Index="PRIMARY", so that the table defined as r did actually exist and contained, in MySQL, an index named PRIMARY. But the error message was Error 3251, ODBC operation no supported for this type of object.

How can this problem be overcome? Changing the index name on r.Index="" or in MySQL did not help.
