MySQL ODBC connections

I am a new user and I have to get a feel for the interoperabilty of MySQL (ODBC) with my Ms. Access Applications. I presently have MySQl on a test box; I have been able to replicate my tables structure and the data into MySQL. Now I need to be able to create s DSN that permits using a networked database.

My server on the test box is the default, localhost, and it does have an IP address. I cannot however seem to connect to the MySQL resources over the Network.
