Referential Intergity Problem between Access & MySQL

I have an ODBC linked access 2007 db to a mysql inno back-end. The back-end has the proper foreign keys/cascades for referential integrity. However, I cannot setup the same reference relationships in Access. The referential integrity check boxes are grayed out in the 'Edit Relationships' pop-up window.

Any ideas on why this is not working?

Second question! Is there a better front-end than MS Access? I find the myPhPadmin interface a pain to use when updating records.

Thanks in advance.
