Alberto, tu problema es común y pasa cuando tu servidor está mal configurado.
Debes hacer un poco de performance tunning al servicio cambiando algunas variables a tu archivo my.cnf (LINUX) o my.ini (guindous).
Uno de los más importantes es
max_allowed_packet = xxxM
En donde xxx es un número para representar la cantidad de MB que quieres establecer.
Prueba con 350
max_allowed_packet = 350M
Luego reinicias el servicio Mysql-server
En teoría solo con este cambio ya funcionaría.
