Moving MYSQL database to new web host

Hi,
Being fairly new to MYSQL I would like to know if it's possible to move a MYSQL database created on my existing website hosting service to another host with a new domain name. If so how do I go about this please? Is it a straight forward process?
The database hosts a site created with Joomla 1.5 - the Joomla files will obviously need to be moved to new host as well.
