MySQL Database Consultant/DBA

MD Ranger is a data-centric health care startup based in Burlingame, CA. We are looking for a database consultant experienced in MySQL for several projects. We are a small and growing company offering an exciting opportunity to be involved in shaping the direction of our products, which hospital executives throughout the West rely on to make decisions.

Responsibilities:
•Manage data quality of data coming into our database
•Perform transfers from Excel or .csv-formatted data into MySQL database
•Design and implement data cleaning standards and tools for interaction with PHP-powered survey tool
•Redesign database to streamline structure for smooth long-term growth
•Build analytic processes for further growth in size and product offering

Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
•At least 2 years of experience administering and using MySQL databases.
•Solid ETL and SQL query skills
•Experience uploading and downloading to other formats (Excel, csv, etc.)
•Excel, SAS, and/or PHP/Python/Ruby knowledge a plus
•Experience developing in both Windows and Linux environments
•Familiarity with a LAMP environment
•Demonstrated database design and SQL programming skills
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent training and experience will also suffice.


Much of the work will be done in collaboration with MD Ranger data analysts and programmers on site in our Burlingame, CA office.
