Bolt is searching for a MySQL DBA/Database Developer to work in our New York (SoHo) office. This is a consultant position that could lead to permanent employment. Listed below is the description of the position. If you are interested, please send an updated copy of your resume.

Job description:
Work on architecture and implementation of new database infrastructure to support a new Web platform. Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. The appropriate candidate will work with a strong team of developers and will shape the future of the platform. It is an excellent opportunity.

Responsibilities include:
* Some development work necessary
* Install, configure, manage and maintain multiple MySQL databases.
* MySQL clustering techniques
* Backup, restore and upgrades of servers
* Familiarity with both InnoDB and ISAM and appropriate indexing techniques
* Configuration and management of systems for high availability
* MySQL performance and availability monitoring and reporting techniques
* Work with development team to tune, index, and otherwise appropriately configure DBs
* Recommend strategies and planning for MySQL DB infrastructure for significant growth
To sum it up: Ensure the database infrastructure is rock-solid.

Additional requirements:
* 3+ years experience in MySQL
* Proven experience with distributed relational database design issues
* Proven experience with open source/Linux development environment
* Proven experience with MySQL
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent
* Linux expertise a plus
* Perl, PHP, Java a plus
* Shell scripting a plus
* Utilization of MRTG, Nagios or equivalent monitoring and reporting tools a plus
