MySQL Database Administrator
We have assembled a small, highly capable team to execute full life-cycle development of business revenue applications from architecture through design, development, implementation and support. This position will provide enterprise-level database administration services, monitoring performance, identifying issues and resolving critical errors, and will interface with developers and customers.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Testing for server load, memory usage and system errors
* Tuning and optimizing application SQL code
* Managing multiple instances on multiple MySQL servers
* Troubleshooting MySQL instance issues
* Monitoring and planning for growth of MySQL instances
* Creating scripts to automate backups and repetitive tasks
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* Strong knowledge of MySQL as DBA
* Solid experience with MySQL Enterprise
* Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
* Understanding of MySQL engines and their use in transactional and reporting systems
* Understanding of MySQL replication and ability to rebuild environments with MySQLDUMP and INNOBACKUPS
* Understanding and ability to use stored procedures, functions and triggers in MySQL
* Proficiency in Unix shell scripting, Perl, and PHP
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Strong teamwork and collaboration, coupled with personal accountability
