I currently have been using ACT the CRM v6, and have about 4600 client records in the database. But now I would like to have the ACTv6 database converted over to MySQL and possibly use the MySQL on our terminal server to allow up to 10 of our remote staff access to our database [concurrently].
The reason I want to change from ACTv6 is I need to develop some other tables that will relate to the existing tables in ACT. the newer version of ACTv7 is a locked SQL, so that doesn't do me any good. I think I will like the flexibility of MySQL once it is set up. I have heard of some tools that can convert ACT to ACCESS but don't know of any that will convert ACT to MySQL. Maybe there is a tool that then can convert from ACCESS to MySQL. I don't know.
I don't know what the best way to allow access to the MySQL maybe PHP or SQL Manager.Net or vTiger. vTiger seems to be a good program but I don't know if it would work on a terminal server. So I'm looking for recommendations.
One reason why we like terminal server is because our remote staff can use our programs to make and modify files with excel, word, pdf and they can email or fax from terminal server. We need them to access our file directory which consists of client files with tifs, pdfs, excel, word docs and a proprietary program.
After the MySQL is set up on the terminal server then I would like to set up an online MySQL that can sync with the server MySQL every night. The online MySQL will only contain a few relational tables from the server MySQL. This is a temporary project until it is finished, then possible ongoing tweaking.
With all this said, I'm looking for someone to help put this together for me. Someone who is affordable, hopefully local [LongIsland NY], but this might be able to be completed remotely as someone can use me as the drone to do things local [with email or cell phone coaching]. I prefer US residents only, because the phone can then be affordable. Also good English, as that is all I speak.
If you think you can help reply to this thread or Email me a proposal of your requested hourly wage and time availability and experience. You can email to
Randm@theVine.net.
If you have any recommendations regarding how this should be done, I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance.
