MySQL DBA Needed for a Great Company in Bay Area

Position: Senior MySQL DBA (With a Great company!)

Location : San Francisco California area (Sunnyvale) Local candidates highly preferred.

Description:
The Senior DBA is a part of the Internet Operations team.

Responsibilities:
•Perform operational MySQL DBA duties in a replicated environment. These will include: installation, patching,
environment cloning, implementing backup/recovery and monitoring procedures, capacity planning, site failover/switchover.
•Support agile deployment of schema changes through the dev/stage/prod environments.
•Design, architect, and implement MySQL, Oracle and Mongo databases from determining business requirements to planning
and deploying test and production systems
•Interface with engineering, network, hardware and system operations teams to resolve problems with application/database systems
•Ability to take on other database technologies such as Oracle and mongoDB.
•Be part of a production support 24x7 rotation.

Qualifications:
•8 - 10 years related experience
•3 - 5 years experience supporting a 24x7, high volume website
•Strong understanding of relational database architecture concepts.
•Strong hands-on experience administering replicated 24/7 MySQL databases: database monitoring/troubleshooting, capacity planning and performance tuning; SQL and PL/SQL development; Oracle Data Guard; data modeling/design
•Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
•Knowledge of one of the following: UNIX/Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, C/C++, Java
•Proficient working with UNIX/Linux platforms with concrete knowledge of system administration/internals.
