BravoTECH, a leader in IT staffing and staff augmentation services, seeks a
MySQL DBA for our preferred client in their Plano, TX location. The
qualified candidate will possess 5+ years of experience in three major
areas, including: MySQL database administration, scripting, and complex
queries.

Description:

Support multiple production relational databases in 24X7 high-availability
and data warehouse environments. The candidate will be responsible for
installation and configuration of new databases, troubleshooting,
performance monitoring and tuning, backup/recovery, script development, and
analysis. The position will require on call 24X7 support of production
systems on a rotation basis with other team members.

Qualifications

5+ years in the IT field with at least 3 years of DBA responsibilities –
specifically (Oracle or DB2 LUW) DBA experience and the candidate should
also have some exposure to MySQL database environments. DBA experience with
MySQL 5.x preferred

2+ years in scripting languages – shell, Perl, PHP etc.

2+ years of SQL development experience – ability to understand and tune
complex queries

Ability to design and build simple to complex database structure from data
models

Database design skills in both OLTP and data warehouse environments a plus.

Ability to provide support in database usage, and database performance.
Pro-actively identifies database issues and resolves.

Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and projects

Ability to quickly learn and adapt to changes in database technology

Excellent communication skills – ability to explain complex database
concepts in layman terms

Salary is up to 90K
