Yep, same for me too, and mysql would not recognize my table, pretended it did not exist, but creating the temporary again after procedure execution fails, because it already exists.

As for your problem, i think it would all work out if you can create the temporary table outside your procedure. It might also be worht to check if it makes any difference when create the temp table in procedure X and reference it in procedure Y (I guess it would not make a difference)

I'll try and set up a test case later on today, but i cant promise, im kinda busy. I will come back at this, if not today, then tomorrow!
