Updating between beta versions.. Need some suggestions please..

Hi All,
I am in need of updating between 5.0.7 and the latest release 5.0.11.

I am using the Suse rpm and fear losing valuable data during the process.. any suggestions from personal experiences would be greatly appreciated...
