ok I think I answered my own question on this...
It appears that it's bound to connection and as long as you do your work sequentially in that connection you'll be ok.
Just some of the comments I've seen from other users took me aback on this, and I was concerned I could get cross-connection results. That doesn't appear to be the case though in the testing I've done.
